Most are given prescription drugs but as many have said, medication is just a band-aid over a wound that will never heal. Our Heroes deserve more than just a band-aid and so director/producer Michael Gier went on a mission and found successful alternative treatments that give anyone battling PTS their lives back. Criminal Justice Evolution Podcast: Donna Brown - Retired LEO, Public Speaker and Author of Behind and Beyond the Badge

Hello everyone and welcome back to The Top Ranked Criminal Justice Evolution Podcast. Top ranked because of YOU, the listener and supporter. Please give us that 5-Star Rating on Apple Podcasts we sure would appreciate it. A big shout out to all the brave men and women who work in the Criminal Justice Field. Remember you are honored, cherished and loved. Keep up the great work and be safe. Such an honor to be partnered with Detectachem. This amazing company is helping keep our brave men and women safer by offering mobile threat detection that fits in the palm of your hands. Detecting illicit drugs, explosives and now COVID-19. This application-based technology is a must have for your organization. Check out their link at www.cjevolution.com Such and honor to have Donna Brown on the show. She is a successful author, speaker and retired Police Sergeant. In Donna’s own words. I had an idea for a book for quite some time but never chose to put "pen to paper" until 2017. "Behind and Beyond the Badge" was born out of passion for all of the good, honest and hardworking law enforcement officers who put on the uniform each day. And that goes for all first responders. The book took two gold medals in nonfiction at the Florida Authors and Publishers Presidents Book awards, a national competition. With that and the overwhelmingly positive feedback I received I decided to write Volume II. People don't know what it's like to do the job but they truly want to know more. The books are a collection of stories about individuals who have done or are doing the job. Police officers, firefighters, dispatchers, EMTS/Paramedics, crime scene technicians and victim advocates. They have truly opened their hearts to let people in and talk about "the good, the bad and the ugly." Their stories might surprise you. In 2018, Volume I won gold medals in two non-fiction categories in the Florida Authors and Publishers President's Book Awards, a national competition. In 2019, Volume II was a finalist in Non-Fiction:True Crime in the International Book Awards and won two medals in the Florida Authors and Publishers President's Book Awards in Non-Fiction and Political/Current Events. Both Volume's are now available on Amazon and Barnes and Nobles in eBook, paperback and hardcover. Visit behindandbeyondthebadge.com for reviews and excerpts! Donna and I hit on a lot of different topics in the law enforcement realm. From the challenges law enforcement faces, to developing the proper mindset. Such a great show. You can find Donna here: http://behindandbeyondthebadge.com/ https://www.linkedin.com/in/donnabrownsigfla/ https://www.amazon.com/Behind-Beyond-Badge-II/dp/B08J1GPSXN/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=donna+brown&qid=1626286269&s=books&sr=1-1   Stay tuned for more great guests on The CJEvolution Podcast   www.cjevolution.com

A big shout out and thank you to all the brave men and women who work in the Criminal Justice Field- Yes this means YOU. Remember you are honored, cherished, and loved. Keep up the great work and be safe. If you manage your organizations Extra Duty Program, I know personally how taxing that can be. Especially with all the other commitments and projects you have going on. I want to tell you about my friends at Extra Duty Solutions. Extra Duty Solutions helps law enforcement agencies everywhere add efficiency and effectiveness to their extra duty programs while allowing them to focus on what really matters – the safety of their citizens. They work with agencies everywhere to help administer their extra duty programs in the following areas: Client interaction, scheduling, officer payments, problem resolution and so much more. Their services are provided at NO COST to the department and a minimal cost to the clients. Their programs can also be customized to meet the goals and unique needs of any agency. Head over to www.extradutysolutions.com and tell them Patrick from The CJEvolution Podcast sent you.   So excited to have acclaimed author Stephanie Dickinson on the show. She talks about her new book Razor Wire Wilderness. Stephanie straddles the lines of true crime and memoir in “Razor Wire Wilderness,” (June 1, 2021, Kallisto Gaia Press) as she examines the lives of those affected by violence in this immaculately assembled account that takes readers directly inside incarceration and face to face with inmates.   Krystal Riordan watched as her boyfriend beat a teenage Jennifer Moore to death in a vermin-infested New Jersey hotel room. Could she have stopped it? Or could she be his next victim? Now, Krystal is serving a maximum 30-year sentence, while the man who beat Jennifer to death received only a 50-year sentence. So, what does it take to survive in a maximum-security lockdown for 30 years? Is it possible to thrive?    The answers only lead to more questions in Dickinson’s raw and emotional look into the criminal justice system and how it’s failed not just one but countless victims of violence. And what unfolds is a beautiful depiction of moral ambiguity, loss and redemption within the confines of the prison walls and beyond.   Stephanie and I also talk about violence against women, women who are incarcerated and those challenges and the criminal justice system.   A great interview.   You can find Stephanie and her book here:   https://www.amazon.com/Razor-Wire-Wilderness-Stephanie-Dickenson-ebook/dp/B095J1L455/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=razor+wire+wilderness&qid=1624380362&sr=8-2   https://www.linkedin.com/in/stephanie-dickinson-2579202a/   Stay tuned for more great episodes on The Criminal Justice Evolution Podcast   www.cjevolution.com   Patrick

I started thinking about what he said. I told him he needed to be himself and be authentic.  I think a lot of people fall into this trap, especially in the world of social media. A lot of people want to be someone else, instead of just being themselves. Do you want to provide value to the world? Then give the world YOU. Your vulnerability, your humility. It's a very difficult environment, but everyday you go out and serve honorably and bravely. Remember you are honored, cherished and loved. Keep up the great work.  When you get up in the morning what are you thinking about? Are your thoughts focused on the negative? Are you focused on your anxiety or stress? Are you worried about money and how you are going to pay the bills? Or, are you focused on the positive in your life? Criminal Justice Evolution Podcast: Brock Bevell - Retired Police Officer & Director of Operations for Chase The Vase

Hello everyone and welcome back to the show. The CJEvolution Podcast is Top Ranked because of YOU, the listener and supporter. Thank YOU very much. Please give us that 5-Star Rating and Review on Apple Podcasts. A big shout out and thank you to ALL the criminal justice professionals out there working in a very dangerous and uncertain environment. Remember you are HONORED, CHERISHED and above all you are LOVED. Keep up the great work.   It’s such an honor to be a partnered with an Amazing and Innovative Company like Detectachem. This company is helping keep our brave men, women and YOU safer, but offering mobile threat detection that fits in the palm of your hand. Detecting explosives, drugs and now COVID-19. This application-based technology is a MUST HAVE for your organization. Check out their link at www.cjevolution.com   My next guest is going to motivate and inspire you. Brock Bevell is living proof that anyone, including YOU, can overcome every obstacle life throws at you. Brock is a husband and father of 7 Children. He is a recovery coach and an advocate for those struggling with addiction. Brock has over 11 years of sobriety and 6.5 years working 1 on 1 with men and women who struggle with addiction. In 2001, while working as a Police Officer, Brock was involved in an accident where a mom was prostituting her daughter out for sex in exchange for drugs. During the incident, Brock was run over and sustained notable injuries to his ankle and knee. The injuries and surgeries from the accident led Brock on an extensive addiction to opioids. He openly shares his point of view of the life of an undercover cop, who dedicated his life to the often dangerous and clandestine world of informants, drug dealers, and addicts. While working as a police officer he shares his perception of those who suffer from addiction and alcoholism. On the flip side, Brock didn’t intend to become a drug addict, but nonetheless found himself in a knock down drag out battle with opioid addiction, even turning to selling narcotics to feed his growing and out of control addiction. The kicker you ask? The addict turned dealer and the thrill-seeking undercover cop is the same person – and that’s just the start of what is genuinely an incredible story of a man who at one point has to make the ultimate split-second decision as a police officer, finds himself growing to hate the addicts and dealers he is chasing, and ultimately becomes one himself. Brock does indeed persevere and now over eleven years sober, shares his amazing story of high drama, intrigue and most importantly hope with Chasing the Vase!   A great and powerful interview.   Find Brock here:   https://www.chasethevasechallenge.com/order-473856221616173919993   https://www.facebook.com/chasingthevase/   https://www.linkedin.com/in/brock-bevell-45858a19a/   More great guests and content are coming soon on The Criminal Justice Evolution Podcast   www.cjevolution.com   Patrick
