In this episode Patrick welcomes Purdeep Sangha Purdeep is an authority on performance psychology, mindfulness, leadership, and business growth. He is also a leader in the science and art of Self-Mastery.  His inspiration for The Male Entrepreneur was his father, who ironically passed away shortly before seeing Purdeep’s vision come true. His father was an entrepreneur who had immigrated here from India with $11 in his pocket. He worked a minimum wage labor job for many years before starting his own business. Purdeep learned many lessons from his father. Positive attributes such as: values, being strong as a man, masculinity, and never giving up. But he also learned the challenges that came along with being a struggling entrepreneur: the feelings of guilt, not being good enough, and addictions. Seeing his father struggle and having struggled himself, Purdeep’s motivation is to ensure that other male entrepreneurs have the knowledge, tools and skills to create a more profitable business and fulfilling life for them and their family. He grew up in small town in British Columbia, Canada. He started working on an orchard at the age of 9 and at 16, he was managing over 50 people. He still considers himself to be an orchard boy as his family still has an orchard growing apples and cherries. Throughout his years, Purdeep was committed to studying successful businesses and was determined to find out what made one entrepreneur more successful over another. He spent thousands of hours studying the best businesses around the world and also attended four of the top business schools in North America such as MIT, Stanford, Ivey and Schulich. Plenty of action is one of the best therapies ever devised for curing worry. 2) Don't fuss about trifles. Don't permit little things - the mere termites of life - to ruin your happiness. 3) Use the law of averages to outlaw your worries. Ask yourself: "What are the odds against thing's happening at all?" 4) Cooperate with the inevitable. If you know a circumstance is beyond your power to change or revise, say to yourself: "It is so; it cannot be otherwise." 5) Put a "stop-loss" order on your worries. Decide just how much anxiety a thing may be worth - And refuse to give it any more. 6) Let the past bury its dead. Don't saw sawdust. He was a Police Officer for twenty-three years and served on a SWAT Team as a Hostage Negotiator for nineteen of those years. John worked in law enforcement for over twenty-three years, nineteen of those years as a Hostage Negotiator on his departments SWAT Team. He has been a member of the National Speakers Association, ASTD and holds lifetime status as a Certified Protection Professional (CPP) from the American Society for Industrial Security. Here are some tips I use to get me ready for the week ahead: 1) Make lists of what you want to accomplish during the week - Personal or Professional, hopefully its both. 2) Look at that list throughout the day. Just don't make a list and forget about it. Look at it several times a day. Research shows when we make lists and look at the lists we are more likely to accomplish our goals. 3) Spend time with yourself throughout the week to reflect. A global consulting firm that specializes in connecting corporate strategy to action using the Flawless Execution Methodology. Joel is a community leader and mentor for thousands of at-risk children in the San Antonio area. Former Air Force fighter pilot with over 2,500 missions providing escort for the President, protecting our nation's borders, and training thousands of pilots for the United States and 25 allied countries around the world. As an F-15 pilot, Thor escorted the U.S. President through the sky and flew missions to ensure the safety of the country after the attacks of 9/11. He was the tactical leader of 300 of the most senior combat pilots in the Air Force and he oversaw the execution of a $150M/year flight program. Thor was named the Top Instructor Pilot at the Air Force Flight Training Headquarters and he’s flown thousands of missions teaching pilots from 25 countries around the world. He received his bachelor’s degree at the United States Air Force Academy and is a summa cum laude graduate of the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas. He is Afterburner’s expert leadership speaker, sharing his knowledge with organizations across the US. Thor is humbled to have had the incredible experiences that executive leadership within the military and Afterburner have afforded him, but he’s most proud of the following accomplishments. In 2010, Thor was diagnosed with Stage IV cancer and given about a 15% chance to live. Instead of giving up, Thor decided to give back. He started a youth outreach program in San Antonio that has grown to help more than 15,000 at-risk kids. Their efforts have been featured on every news channel for 100 miles and one national media outlet. In 2012, he was selected out of 62,000 people to receive the AETC National Public Service Award. Thor completed the New Zealand Ironman Triathlon in March of 2015 to commemorate the five-year anniversary of his Stage IV cancer diagnosis and to raise awareness for the rare and deadly cancer that he battled.
