Dr. Perkins plays a critical role within the GCISF. The Global Critical Incident Stress Foundation was founded in 2004. We are a non-profit, (registered with Internal Revenue Service in the State of California) open membership organization dedicated to the mitigation of disabling stress through the provision of: Education, training and support services for all Emergency Services professions Continuing education and training in Emergency Mental Health Services for Psychologists, Psychiatrists, Social Workers and Licensed Professional Counselors. The consultation and establishment of Crisis and Disaster Response Programs for varied organizations and communities. Founded in Ontario Canada we now have offices in both Canada and the United States of America. The mission of the Global Critical Incident Stress Foundation is to provide leadership, education, training, consultation, and support services in comprehensive crisis intervention and disaster behavioral health services to the emergency response professions, other organizations, and communities within Canada and the United States. Patrick Fitzgibbons is a retired Police Commander and former Army Paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division. He is now a Program Lead for FHE Health in their Shatterproof Program for First Responders located in Deerfield Beach, Florida. He is passionate about helping first responders who are struggling, and he also sought treatment for his struggles. He holds advanced degrees in organizational leadership and business, and is currently studying to become a licensed mental health clinician in the State of Florida. Patrick also speaks to first responder organizations about health and wellness for personnel.
