I will show you how to turn those difficulties into opportunities for growth and development. I’m here to help you come up with sustainable, long-term solutions so you can start living the life you’re meant to live. I have many years of experience working in one of the most difficult professions in the world – law enforcement. I have coached, mentored and trained some of the best police officers, first-responders, and numerous law enforcement professionals. Through my top ranked podcast, I’ve been blessed to have so many great and inspirational guests on the show that I have learned from over the years. I’m here to pass my education and experience on to you. Sign up for a FREE Discovery Call here: https://www.cjevolution.com/personal-coaching/ Big shout out to our sponsor Detectachem. This great company is helping keep our brave men and women safer through mobile threat detection that fits in the palm of your hand. See how they can help your agency. See their link at www.cjevolution.com I always love having former LEO’s on the show that have retired after a great law enforcement career and continue to give back as successful entrepreneurs. Marc Neal is such a person, and he is on the show. He is the founder of Onyx Training Group. Onyx Training Group is a law enforcement and corporate communication, principles, and decision-making training company with an online presence, but a direct participation focus. The information presented in the courses is the result of my 20 police career and over 2 decades of teaching officers and civilians in various disciplines, including advanced tactics and cross cultural diversity and anti-biased policing strategies. Marc believes in the profession of law enforcement and does everything he can to help increase its image and perception, while also helping to increase the abilities of the officers who he works with. Marc doesn’t think policing is without its issues, and while being realistic, he is also idealistic in that policing is fundamentally critical to the quality of life in our society. He also believes that agencies must select, train and then sustain good quality people as the Servant Warriors of their communities. Part of sustaining good people is observing the intrinsic human value in all people. Not just is lip service, but in observable action. When organizations display a belief and support in their people, their people, being full, can project that belief and support to their community. Onyx Training focuses on building that feeling of sustenance, which translates into ability, which increases confidence, which produces success. CJ Evolution Podcast: Microcast Monday: Eliminate your "Us against them Mentality"

Hello everyone and welcome back to Microcast Monday. Happy Thanksgiving Week! Special thanks to all the brave men and women who work in the criminal justice field. Thank you for what you do. Keep up the great work! I am so excited that my book EVOLVE is finally here. You might have seen advanced copies floating around, but now it's available for you! This microbook is filled with inspiration, motivation and successful tips and suggestions to help you both personally and professionally. If you want an autographed copy of the book reach out to me through social media - Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn. If you want a FREE eBook copy of the book head over to www.cjevolution.com Special thanks to our sponsor Detectachem. This amazing company is helping keep our first responders safe by offering mobile threat detection for the palm of your hand. Detecting drugs and explosives. Check out their link at www.cjevolution.com and see who they can help you protect your troops. In this episode of Microcast Monday I want to take a moment and talk about the "us versus them mentality." I had this mindset for many years where I thought if someone didn't work in the criminal justice field, or didn't have a gun and badge then they couldn't trusted. Over the years I learned how detrimental that mindset was, at least for me. Sooner or later you will leave this great profession and then what? Maybe you want to work in the private sector? Maybe you want to start your own business? Do you think the mindset of "us versus them" is going to help you succeed? Probably not. You have realize that most people are good and we deal with only the fraction of people that are doing bad. When this happens over and over our mindset becomes jaded. However, you can begin to recognize it and take steps to change or mindset. I am not saying compromise your officer safety, but I am saying it's good to develop and cultivate friendships outside of law enforcement. If you have the above mindset how did it develop? Do you know? Write it down and then realize that these are not reflective of society as a whole. Remember you can always change your mindset. Happy Thanksgiving Week and everyone be safe! Have a great week and go conquer your day. www.cjevolution.com   Patrick

Again, special thanks to all of our veterans. Here are some ways you can show appreciation to our brave men and women. 1) Show up - There are many events to celebrate veterans. Pick one and show your support. Veterans love this!   2) Donate - There is always a need to more resources. There are many organizations that you can donate to that support veterans.   3) Ask a veteran about their service - We all know someone who has served and today is a great day to ask them about it. Remember to be supportive but not intrusive. Some vets don't like talking about certain things.   4) Write a veteran - If you know a veteran, send them a card or an e-card to show support. Don't know a veteran? Look up the closest military installation and send a card there. These small acts are very appreciated.   5) Remember not to confuse Veterans Day with Memorial Day - There is a difference. Veterans day is a day to honor ones who have served and who are still with us. Memorial day is to honor the brave who have given the ultimate sacrifice. Combing the two and diminish the significance of both .   6) Get outdoors with a veteran - Spending time outdoors with a veteran or a veterans family can improve physical and mental health and boots emotional well-being. For more ways to show appreciation check here:   https://www.military.com/veterans-day/8-ways-to-express-appreciation-on-veterans-day.html   Have a great Monday! Specifically, how are you doing in the following areas: 1) Health - Everything revolves around your health. When your health suffers, everything else will too. Are you keeping the promises that you made to yourself or others at the beginning of the year? We generally don't focus on our health until something goes wrong. Remember it's never to late to start a new path. 2) Finances - How are your finances? Are you on the right path? Are you achieving the goals you set for yourself or your family at the beginning of the year? Remember its never too late to start a new good habit.   3) Relationships - Relationships are the key to personal and professional success. Cultivate and nourish your relationships. Are you on track this year?   4) Career - Are you on track with your career goals that you made at the beginning of the year? If yes, great if not what happened? Remember you still have the rest of the year to go! You might have more categories to add to this, but these are some of the most important I use for my personal check ups. Remember that you need to take care of yourself FIRST in order to take care of others. If you need a personal coach, I can help. Relationships and love are what matters in the end. 3)  "I wish I'd had the courage to express my feelings." 4)  "I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends." 5)  "I wish I had let myself be happier."   Go out there and conquer the day - Remember to live your true life and not a life in regret.   stay tuned for more great shows.   www.cjevolution.com   Patrick   Reference to show: https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2012/feb/01/top-five-regrets-of-the-dying Top 5 Regrets of the Dying - Bronnie Ware https://www.amazon.com/s?k=top+5+regrets+of+the+dying&crid=14OZUAH23HA9J&sprefix=Top+5+reg%2Caps%2C245&ref=nb_sb_ss_i_1_9

CJEvolution Podcast: Terry Tucker - Former Police Officer turned Motivational Speaker & Coach

Hello everyone and welcome back to the show. Thanks to all the brave men and women who protect us every day. Thank you so much for what you do. Keep up the great work! You have much support! In this ever changing and dangerous environment, I am glad that a company like Detectachem is helping protect our brave men and women by officer treat detection that fits in the palm of your hand. Detecting illicit drugs and explosives. Check their link out on www.cjevolution.com If you love coffee, and I know most of you do, then you will love the products from Four Sigmatic. They have great products you will love – most notably their Lions Mane Mushroom Coffee. Check out their link at www.cjevolution.com All the guests that come on the show are amazing. They are uplifting, inspiring and motivational. But, every once in awhile a guest will come on that really humbles me. As I was talking to my next guest, Terry Tucker, I was thinking of all the things that I complain about in my life and I was ashamed. You see, Terry has cancer. He was diagnosed with skin cancer a few years back, fought it off, only for it to come back. In fact, doctors are telling Terry he has about a year to live. Yet, Terry has an amazing attitude that centers around self-improvement, gratitude and continuing to give back to his fellow man. Terry has reinvented himself frequently over his professional career. After he graduated from The Citadel, he was employed in the Marketing Department at the corporate headquarters of Wendy’s International in Dublin, Ohio. From there, he worked in hospital administration for Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. After getting married, he became the Customer Service Manager for an academic publishing company in Santa Barbara, California. Subsequently, he was a police officer in Cincinnati, Ohio. Following a family move to Texas, he started a school security consulting business and coached high school basketball in Houston. Each time he took on a new job, he had to develop new skills and faced different challenges. There was always a significant learning curve with each new position.  Terry later started Motivational Check, for a simple reason. When he was a recruit in the Cincinnati Police Academy, it was a phrase any of his classmates could shout if they needed encouragement, motivation or support. The response from the class was to answer with a loud “84,” signifying our Recruit Class number and letting the person needing the reassurance know that they were all there for each other. If you are besieged with anything in your life, know there are people available, willing, and able to help you. Terry understands what it is like to fight for your life. If you do not quit, you can never be defeated. However, the responsibility for altering your life is entirely up to YOU. Whining, complaining, and blaming others for your plight will not enhance your experience. Motivation alone will not cause you to progress. YOU must want to make the change and commit to it every minute of every day. There are no days off when attempting to make significant and lasting improvements.  Such a great and inspirational episode you are going to love.   Find Terry here: https://www.motivationalcheck.com/   Stay tuned for more great episodes on the CJEvolution Podcast.   www.cjevolution.com   Patrick

Even the most successful people in the world still have coaches that help them on the daily basis. Eric decodes faces and facial expressions similarly to the work of a body language expert. Whether we like it or not, our face and micro expressions can tell a world about us. Eric has worked with CEOs to transform their companies and law enforcement consultation for years. By concentrating on cues like behavior, gestures, facial expressions, and micro expressions, face reading adds a new layer to police interrogation.     We all have the intuitive ability to read and interpret the feelings and expressions of those around us. There is a reason a poker face needs to be mastered and why facial micro expressions can indicate the difference between truth and lies. Using a combination of three different schools of face reading, along with a scientific accuracy to detect the most fleeting micro expressions, master face reader Eric Standop is able to read personality, character, emotions, and even the state of a person’s health—all from simply glancing at their face.  With the release of his book, READ THE FACE, Eric is offering his sought-after readings to the media to show just how much your face can tell the world about you.  Check out Eric’s TED talk here:   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nO4l0nLWH7o   Find Eric here:   https://www.readtheface.com/   https://www.readtheface.com/team/eric-standop     Stay tuned for more great episodes on the CJEvolution Podcast       www.cjevolution.com     Patrick

Head over to www.extradutysolutions.com and tell them Patrick from CJEvolution sent you. I wanted to take a few moments today and talk about believing in yourself. I know we have talked about this before, but I recently spoke with an officer from an agency in the mid west who is thinking about leaving the profession after 14 years. He wants to try other things. However, he believes he can't do anything else. This type of mindset will never get you what you want. If you don't believe in yourself who will? When I retired I was scared to death, but I knew deep down everything would work out and it has. I wouldn't allow the naysayers and my fear to dominate my thoughts and you shouldn't either.  I believed in myself and do everyday. You have to develop that mindset. The Officer I was speaking with also had people close to him telling him he couldn't do anything else. This is BS. Don't allow others to sabotage your dreams. We have this one life only. You don't want to be like many who regret a lot in the end. I gave the officer some other tips and suggestions and he told me he is going to take that big step to go after his dreams. That is AWESOME! Need a coach for your personal or professional life? I am here to help. My EVOLVE Coaching is calling for you! Here are some tips to help you do so. 1) Think of a time that you felt really confident.  What are you confident at? Imagine you were confident right now, how does that feel to you? 2) As you remember feeling confident, you will start to feel confident. Where does that confidence start? Your head, your stomach, your feet? 3) Imagine you can see your confident feeling. What color is your feeling? Make this feel brighter and stronger. 4) Does your confident feeling, feel hot our cold? Double the temperature of your confident feeling. 5) In what direction does your feeling spin in? Whatever direction spin it faster and faster.   How much more confident to you feel now? Better? CJ Evolution Podcast: Microcast Monday: Delete Negative Self Talk

Hello everyone and welcome back to Microcast Monday. A big shout out to all the brave men and women who work in the criminal justice field. Thank you all for what you do, and keep up the great work. Thanks to our sponsor Detectachem. This great company is protecting our brave men and women who protect us every day. Click the link to Detectachem and see how they can help you better protect the ones that protect us. www.cjevolution.com In this Microcast Monday episode I wanted to take a moment and talk about your negative self talk. People who give themselves negative self talk stop themselves from being successful. You need to kill that little voice in your head. When you have a moment today I want you to do the following: 1) Think back to a time when you crippled yourself with some negative self talk. Notice, where this little voice was in your head. Is it on the right or the left side of your head? In front or the back of your mind? 2) How loud is the voice? Normal, softer or louder. 3) If you could turn this voice into a shape, what shape would it be? A square, triangle, circle or any other shape? What shape is your voice? If you can't turn your voice into a shape imagine you were someone who could turn the voice into a shape - what shape is your voice? 4) What color is your shape? Is the shape in the same place the voice was? 5) Slowly move the shape away from your head, down towards your shoulder, how does it feel now? Most say it feels less powerful, pretty cool eh? 6) Allow the shape to move from your shoulder down your arm towards your elbow, how does it feel now? Is the negative emotion vanishing? Yes? 7) Let the shape continue further down from your elbow to your hand, notice how your negative emotions losses strength the further down the shape goes, move the shape to your leg, at its own speed allow the shape to drop down from your leg to your knee - how does it feel now? Less powerful? 8) Move it from your knees to your foot, is the negative feeling vanishing? With the shape on your foot, how do you feel? More positive? 9) Finally allow the shape to fall onto the floor - what do you want to do to the shape? Kick it away? Stomp on it? 10) Move the shape so you can't see it, now how do you feel? Have all the negative emotions vanished? Most said they vanished a long time ago. How easy and amazing is this exercise? Try this exercise 3 times and notice how it gets easier and quicker to remove the negative voice each time you try it.   Remember this day is yours! Go conquer it and the week!   Stay tuned for more great episodes on The CJEvolution Podcast.     Patrick

After cutting weight as a wrestler, his growth was severely stunted. Standing just over 5 feet tall, he was often bullied as a kid and was laughed at when he told others of his dream to become a member of one of the world’s most elite units. Hays learned that what first seemed like a deficiency was indeed his greatest strength because it made him immune to adversity.  After leaving the SEAL teams following 10 years, he tried out for a para-military unit within the CIA. His operating days came to an end when he ruptured a disk while preparing for an operation in Afghanistan. Disillusioned, broken and without means to provide for his family, Hays was left without a purpose in life. After recovery, his training kicked in, and he remembered the lessons learned from the SEAL teams and put them to the test with professional athletes. Word spread and before he knew it, he was training the Miami Heat and eventually worked with the Atlanta Falcons on their way to a Super Bowl. Hays holds a BA from the University of Maryland, a Master’s in Business from the University of San Diego, and a post-graduate degree from the Harvard Business School. Nick is the founder of Elite Team Performance - Their consultants operate as a single-minded team, united by a common set of values and an unceasing commitment to help organizations and individuals achieve their highest potential. CJ Evolution Podcast: Microcast Monday: What are Your Limiting Beliefs?

Hello everyone and welcome back to Mircrocast Monday! Remember its going to be a great day and a great week. Special thanks to all the brave men and women who work in the criminal justice field. Thank you so much for what you do. Keep up the great work. Remember the power of your mind. Your mindset is so important to your success and the ability to overcome obstacles in your life. In this episode, I want to talk about your limiting beliefs. We all have them. In order to move forward in your life you need to understand your own beliefs and which beliefs are holding you back. If you believe your life will be hard, your mind will concentrate on this belief and search for the evidence to back it up. Remember mindset! I want you to write down all your limiting beliefs. The beliefs that stop you from moving forward. Here is an example: " I am a bad driver". Why do you believe this? Does your partner tell you this? Someone else. As you can see once you start questioning your limiting beliefs you will start to create doubt which will lead you to changing your beliefs. To change your limiting beliefs, question and challenge the evidence that backs up this belief. Our mind never sets out wanting you to have a hard life. Limiting beliefs are often formed by your unconscious mind to protect you in some way: your limiting belief may have been adapted through past experiences, repetitive negative comments (from yourself and others) or your environment. Your mind rather than have you repeat this past distressful experience will allow you to believe it's not worth putting yourself through it again. Take the time and write down the beliefs that are holding you back and update them. This will give you new opportunities you never thought were possible. If you have any questions or if you would like to inquire about my personal coaching please reach out to me at www.cjevolution.com Stay tuned for more great episodes. Patrick

They work with law enforcement agencies to administer their extra duty programs. Check them out here: www.extradutysolutions.com Tell them Patrick from CJEvolution Podcast sent you. In this solo episode, I wanted to first give praise and thanks again to our first responders and military personnel who protect our country every day. In this time of political division and many other problems the country is facing, remember that we all are Americans. Citizens should be coming together and supporting our brave men and women in law enforcement and in the military instead fostering an environment lack of respect for the police, like was recently seen in New York City (Pouring water on the heads of officers). First responders and military personnel are the reason we have this great country. If we continue down the path of division and lawlessness then our country will begin to spiral out of control and everything we have and take for granted will be lost. I ask you to do two things for today: 1) If you haven't taken a moment of silence to respect the victims and victims families of 09/11 please do so. 2) Seek out first responders and military personnel and thank them for their service. It will mean the world to them and they deserve it. Remember to never forget 09/11/2001 Stay tuned for more great episodes on The CJEvolution Podcast. www.cjevolution.com   Stay safe.   Patrick

Special thanks to my good friend Jerrod Hardy who is continuing to give back and train law enforcement professionals everywhere. Team Hardy Ground Tactics course is designed by law enforcement for law enforcement.  This world class program is designed to meet the challenges of today's law enforcement world.  Limited training time, injury prevention, policy and procedure compliance all effect how and what we can train.  This tactical program certifies your officers in how to perform, teach and correct their students in a safe, challenging and confidence building environment.  No more ground fighting or setting our officers up for failure! See what Jerrod and his amazing team can do for your organization. Find Team Hardy here: www.teamhardy.net We all need to laugh sometimes, especially law enforcement officers. Laughter is good for the soul. My next guest is Vinnie Montez. Vinnie is a loud, boisterous and yet insightful comic. With a strong Mexican heritage his mom and dad were the biggest influences in his life; they weren’t afraid to be themselves or stray from the traditional Mexican culture, instilling core values while letting him find his own way. He grew up in Colorado and always knew he wanted to become a police officer and in 1998 his dream was realized. He has been a successful law enforcement professional for many years, and he has had many assignments. Presently Vinnie is a Commander with the Boulder County Sheriff’s Department. Vinnie got into comedy in 2007 with a trial performance with an open mic night at Comedy Works in Denver and has never looked back. He has shared the stage with Joe Rogan, John Crist and Paul Rodriguez to name a few. Vinnie is also heavily involved in charitable organizations and law enforcement causes and programs. Vinnie and I get personal with our talk and he shared some of the obstacles he has overcome personally and professionally. A great show with a great person and friend.
