Hello everyone and welcome back to Microcast Monday. Happy Monday everyone! I know this day is going to be great for you.  Thank you all for listening to the show and your continued support.    I want to give a big Thank You to all the brave men and women who continue to serve their communities with honor and dedication. Please be safe and remember you are honored, cherished and loved. Keep up the great work and stay safe.   It is such an honor to be partnered with Detectachem. This amazing company is keeping YOU safer by offering mobile threat detection that fits in the palm of your hand - Detecting illicit drugs, explosives and now COVID-19. Check out their link at www.cjevolution.com    I am very happy this morning. Grateful to be alive and grateful for all the close family and friends that are in my life and continue to support and love me. As many of you know, not too long ago I was in a dark place. I was depressed, stressed, fearful and I wanted to take my life. It wasn't until I reached out to my network that I found the place I needed to be. The Shatterproof program for first responders at FHE saved my life.    I love life now and I am excited for what the future holds for me. I am no longer fearful about what I can't control. I focus on what I can control and I take it day by day. My treatment taught me the tools to guide me along the way.    My new mission is to help the first responder / veteran communities more than I have been. Through my public speaking, coaching and podcast I hope to help in more of a direct way. You can find more information about these at www.cjevolution.com    If you are suffering or you know someone who is please reach out to TRUSTED friends and family. If you need information about Shatterproof in FL you can find it here: SHATTERPROOF@FHE First Responders’ Addiction Treatment Program (fherehab.com)   If you want to reach out to me directly you can find my contact information at www.cjevolution.com My cell number is: 303.960.0819   One of my favorite quotes is by Martin Luther King, JR. " You don't have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step."    Go out and conquer your day.   Patrick

Do the following.  5 - See five things that are in front of you. 4 - Feel four things you can touch. 3 - Things you can hear. 2 - Things you can smell. 1 - Thing you can taste.   This is a powerful exercise that I hope you utilize throughout YOUR day. Michael is an award-winning director/producer. He owns and runs Gier Productions, a Full-Service Global Film & Video Production Company. Michael produced and directed the award-winning documentary film – Wounded Heroes. Post-Traumatic Stress (PTS) among our veterans is a serious problem with over 20 veterans a day taking their lives by suicide. And just like veterans; firefighters, police officers, and other first responders not only deal with PTS, but they also have very high suicide rates. Most are given prescription drugs but as many have said, medication is just a band-aid over a wound that will never heal. Our Heroes deserve more than just a band-aid and so director/producer Michael Gier went on a mission and found successful alternative treatments that give anyone battling PTS their lives back. This award-winning film gives HOPE and literally saves lives.   A great and informative interview.   Wounded Heroes - https://vimeo.com/453850297   Find Michael here: https://www.michaelgier.com/   https://www.linkedin.com/in/michaelgier/   Stay tuned for more great guests on The CJEvolution Podcast www.cjevolution.com   Patrick

Criminal Justice Evolution Podcast: Donna Brown - Retired LEO, Public Speaker and Author of Behind and Beyond the Badge

Hello everyone and welcome back to The Top Ranked Criminal Justice Evolution Podcast. Top ranked because of YOU, the listener and supporter. Please give us that 5-Star Rating on Apple Podcasts we sure would appreciate it. A big shout out to all the brave men and women who work in the Criminal Justice Field. Remember you are honored, cherished and loved. Keep up the great work and be safe. Such an honor to be partnered with Detectachem. This amazing company is helping keep our brave men and women safer by offering mobile threat detection that fits in the palm of your hands. Detecting illicit drugs, explosives and now COVID-19. This application-based technology is a must have for your organization. Check out their link at www.cjevolution.com Such and honor to have Donna Brown on the show. She is a successful author, speaker and retired Police Sergeant. In Donna’s own words. I had an idea for a book for quite some time but never chose to put "pen to paper" until 2017. "Behind and Beyond the Badge" was born out of passion for all of the good, honest and hardworking law enforcement officers who put on the uniform each day. And that goes for all first responders. The book took two gold medals in nonfiction at the Florida Authors and Publishers Presidents Book awards, a national competition. With that and the overwhelmingly positive feedback I received I decided to write Volume II. People don't know what it's like to do the job but they truly want to know more. The books are a collection of stories about individuals who have done or are doing the job. Police officers, firefighters, dispatchers, EMTS/Paramedics, crime scene technicians and victim advocates. They have truly opened their hearts to let people in and talk about "the good, the bad and the ugly." Their stories might surprise you. In 2018, Volume I won gold medals in two non-fiction categories in the Florida Authors and Publishers President's Book Awards, a national competition. In 2019, Volume II was a finalist in Non-Fiction:True Crime in the International Book Awards and won two medals in the Florida Authors and Publishers President's Book Awards in Non-Fiction and Political/Current Events. Both Volume's are now available on Amazon and Barnes and Nobles in eBook, paperback and hardcover. Visit behindandbeyondthebadge.com for reviews and excerpts! Donna and I hit on a lot of different topics in the law enforcement realm. From the challenges law enforcement faces, to developing the proper mindset. Such a great show. You can find Donna here: http://behindandbeyondthebadge.com/ https://www.linkedin.com/in/donnabrownsigfla/ https://www.amazon.com/Behind-Beyond-Badge-II/dp/B08J1GPSXN/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=donna+brown&qid=1626286269&s=books&sr=1-1   Stay tuned for more great guests on The CJEvolution Podcast   www.cjevolution.com
