I am talking about becoming selfish in certain areas of your life. The important areas? Your mental health, physical health and spiritual health (if you are in to that). There is nothing wrong with wanting to better yourself.  Does this mean you become selfish with your love ones or friends? NO! It means that if you don't take care of yourself first and learn to be selfish then you will not be your best self for others.  So, start becoming selfish so the better version of YOU can come out =) Go out and conquer your day, and be safe. Patrick Fitzgibbons is a retired Police Commander and former Army Paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division. He is now a Program Lead for FHE Health in their Shatterproof Program for First Responders located in Deerfield Beach, Florida. He is passionate about helping first responders who are struggling, and he also sought treatment for his struggles. He holds advanced degrees in organizational leadership and business, and is currently studying to become a licensed mental health clinician in the State of Florida.
